Title:

Nurse Navigator

Primary responsibility:

My primary role is to assist patients who are navigating the complex healthcare system. It is my responsibility to listen to a patient’s needs and concerns and provide education and support so they are empowered and equipped to make informed decisions about their healthcare.

Why I love my job:

I love being a nurse navigator because it gives me the opportunity to provide one-on-one support to each patient I meet. I am able to form a relationship with each patient and their family, which helps me better understand their needs and provide individualized care. I love that every day is different and that I get the opportunity to learn something new each day. I am also blessed to be surrounded by a team of nurses who work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for each patient of ConnectCare3.

How ConnectCare3 helps:

The ConnectCare3 service gives patients the opportunity to have a healthcare professional guide them through the healthcare system. A new diagnosis or healthcare concern can be overwhelming, and ConnectCare3 provides support, education and resources so patients are able to communicate effectively with physicians, understand their diagnosis and ultimately be their own advocate.

Clinical Experience:

I am a graduate of the University of Florida with my Bachelors degree in Nursing. I have nearly 10 years experience in Women’s Health, Neonatal care and hospice. Prior to becoming a nurse, I was an educator in the public school system. ConnectCare3 allows me to blend my experience in education and nursing to guide patients through the health care system and empower them to become their own advocates.

Best Advice I Ever Received:

Treat others as you would want to be treated and don’t be afraid to try new things because every experience, good or bad, is an opportunity to grow and learn.
